Usually, Chuseok and Seollal holidays are 3 days each, but this time it's a whole 6 days! 추석이나 설날 연휴는 보통 3일인데 이번에는 6일이래요.
It includes Saturday, Sunday, and even Hangul Day and a substitute holiday. 토요일, 일요일 ,그리고 개천절과 대체공휴일까지 더해졌거든요.
Plus, next week after Chuseok, there's Hangul Day too, so there are many days off in the month of October. 그리고 추석 다음주에는 한글날도 있어 시월엔 쉬는 날이 많아요.

개천절 is also known as National Foundation Day

We celebrate 개천절 on October 3rd each year

Koreans commemorate the legendary founding of the nation by the legendary 단군 Dangun, who is said to have founded the first Korean kingdom, 고조선 Gojoseon, more than 4,000 years ago according to Korean myth.

It's a day when many Koreans take pride in their history and national identity, so we raise the national flags. Raising the flag represents national unity, pride, and respect for the country's heritage and history.

It's amazing that our country was first established 4,000 years ago. I'll try to think of Dangun, who founded our country, whenever 개천절 comes around. I'm proud of Korea and our history.
